“Masala chai” means actually means “spiced tea.” Americans have shortened it to simply “chai,” however, which is a generic word for tea in other parts of the world. Whatever you choose to call it, chai tea is a deliciously different way to enjoy your favorite beverage. Check out my inviting chai tea recipes!

No time to track down whole spices and let them simmer on the stove? Here’s a simplified recipe that comes together quickly!
Ingredients
3 cups water
3 cups milk
6 black tea bags
1/2 cup honey
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/8 teaspoon white pepper
How to make
Step 1. In a pot on the stove, heat the milk and the water together until they begin to boil.

Step 3. Add the tea bags, and put the pot back on low heat on the stove for 3-5 minutes.
Step 4. Remove the tea bags, and add the honey and the powdered spices.
