Can Essiac Tea Be Taken During Pregancy or Lactation?

My friend was prescribed this tea by her iridologist to aid in her cleanse. She has severe Chemical Sensitivity and it was recommended that she do a Candida and Colon Cleanse. But she recently found out she was pregnant. Is it safe to take the tea?
