It has been a fantastic start to the 2017 tea season and I can't wait to share the latest news with you.

This is my 11th year tea season with this newsletter and I just can't stopped being amazed by the health-enhancing properties of tea. I have recently upped my intake to 3-5 times a week. I am definitely fitter, calmer and more focus.

Incredibly all these benefits for just 1-3 grams of tea buds a day!

Plus, I have lost 3 kilograms since the start of year. Not a great amount but I am running and swimming faster, which is always a good thing at my age.

For a summary of our March/April arrivals, see the previous newsletter. For the month of May, the following green teas have been restocked:

Green Tea
=======
- Huangshan Maofeng AAA Grade

A highly esteemed high grade that combines exquisite taste with an alluring orchid aroma, this tea is the same high quality as the previous year.

- Taiping Houkui AA Grade
- Liuan Guapian AA Grade
- Maojian AA Grade

For the past few years, we have been changing tea gardens as we find better and higher quality tea. Taiping Houkui and Liuan Guapian were improved from 2015/2016 onwards. For 2017, the Maojian AA grade is a lot better than the year before.

In summary, other than the Maofeng A grade (which will be available in a couple of months), all our lightly oxidized white, yellow and green teas have now been restocked!

All our three black teas have now been restocked:

- Lapsang Souchong King Grade
- Yunnan Gold AAA Grade
- Keemun A Grade

Oolong Tea
========
- Phoenix Oolong Tea

While we have found this year's Dongting Biluochun Green Tea to be the best in five years, this Phoenix Dancong Oolong Tea is probably the best in three years.

Famed for her sweet, honeyed taste and exquisite, floral fragrance, this Phoenix oolong is exceptionally durable lasting 15-20 infusions using gaiwan brewing.

Silver Needle White Tea
=================
There are already three glowing reviews on the 2017 harvest. Our Silver Needle is the first-day harvest and probably the highest quality white tea you can find anywhere else in the world.

Here's what Tendesai from Bristol says:

"This tea is simply beautiful and exceeded all of my expectations! I'm a great fan of white tea and this is one of my favourite ones."

"The flavour is delicate and light both in taste and colour and its one of the most soothing white teas I've come across in a long time."

And while we are on white tea, let's not forget about the 2014 Junda Mudan Wang. It is a pu-erh tea cake made from white tea buds. Aged white tea is regarded to have medicinal qualities in China.
