Happy belated Chinese New Year and welcome to the year of Male Water Dragon! Now is the time of the year when we look at our depleted tea reserves and wonder: When will the 2012 harvests arrive?

The biggest change in recent year has been the arrival of the La Nina weather patter, which temporarily reverses global warming and brings on the big chill.

While her effects have been largely destructive, bringing floods to Australia and heavy snowstorms to North America, as far as Chinese tea is concern, the effects are hugely beneficial.

What's the impact of La Nina on tea?

Chinese winter is becoming colder and longer. Tea plants have more time to nurture their inner essence. The higher level of theanine and antioxidants translate to a tastier, more soothing tea for you and me!

We say that at the beginning of 2011 season, and now customers reviews are saying the same thing.

However, here is the bad news.

Harvesting time was highly unpredictable last year, so for 2012, we are only open for ordering mid to late April. We expect most of the high grades to be available by end of April. Depending on the custom delays of your country, please allow for 2-4 weeks of shipping time for your to arrive.

If you need more tea to get you through the next 2 months, a limited quantity is still available in my tea shop. We store our teas in freezer of minus 20 degrees Celsius, so quality is guaranteed. Shipping is free until the end of the season, which is always a nice thing to take advantage of.
