Time flies, the new green tea season will shortly be upon us.

For Amazing Green Tea Shop, our tea harvests will take place mostly between March and April. However, only the higher grades will be on-the-shelf by end of April.

For the mid to low grades ($15 or below), it could take up to June before the 2010 harvests arrive. Something to consider when you are re-stocking for the new year.

The schedules vary by tea. For the Tribute Dragon Well tea, we will launch the five grades in three stages:

- King and Jipin Grade - Mid March as soon as the harvest takes place
- AAA Grade - 1 April 2010
- A Grade and 4-in-1 Sampler - 15 April 2010

Also, bear in mind that green tea takes 3-6 months to mature. Newly harvested Tribute Dragon Well tea is very toasty, but as it matures, it acquires a sweet, rounded complexity. Spread out your tea consumption over 6 months to experience the difference.

MORE GREEN TEA HEALTH BENEFITS

There have been many exciting green tea discoveries recently.

The one getting the most attention is this 2010 study conducted by the Chinese University of Hong Kong which shows that green tea antioxidants can be found in eyes more than 20 hours after they have been consumed.

The scientists showed for the first time that lens, retina, and other eye tissues absorb these protective substances, raising the possibility that green tea may protect against glaucoma and other common eye diseases.

Also significant is this 2010 study conducted by an Italian team that shows that more than 40% of green tea antioxidants stay in the body after they have been consumed, and may remain as long as 24 hours.

This is revolutionary finding, because it establishes green tea not only as the most abundant and dollar effective source of antioxidants, but holds that the goodness actually stays in the body after you drink the tea.
